As of November 2, 2009, Spectrum Syndicate Management was formally acquired by RenaissanceRe and is now called "RenaissanceRe Syndicate Management Limited". RenaissanceRe established RenaissanceRe Syndicate 1458 in April 2009, for which Spectrum served as the Managing Agent.

Founded in Bermuda in 1993, it is now one of the world's largest and most successful catastrophe reinsurers and has also established a significant franchise as a specialty reinsurer for a wide range of coverages.
